Fun story for you...
We just received this Facebook message from a book lover from Pärnu, Estonia. Interestingly, we also had a participant in our Gary Renard workshop from Estonia!
Attached was this photo, displaying East West Bookshop bookmarks (circa 1990s store):
Apparently, one of these bookmarks stayed in its book for several decades, before making its transatlantic journey to the far-flung country of Estonia which is located in Northeastern Europe.
The town where the books and bookmarks were found is called Pärnu. It's the fourth largest city in Estonia, but at just under 40,000 residents, making it about the same size as Edmonds.
At roughly the same parallel as southern Alaska, Estonia is a LONG way for a book to travel all the way from humble East West Bookshop.
We thought you'd enjoy this story of how something so small can travel so far through time and space.
