Join us for an engaging mindfulness children's book reading and fun activity with local Edmond's author, Cindy Olejar, and inspiring narrator, Liz Ricciardi!
The book, "Beach Day Blues for Wally: how to be present with uncomfortable feelings," will offer you and your young one a lifetime tool and practice when uncomfortable feelings arise.
Take-Aways:
Sometimes we don't like what's happening and we might experience negative thoughts and big feelings. When we know how to be present and accept thoughts and feelings, they don't have to control us. Follow Wally as he learns how to be present with his distressing thoughts and uncomfortable feelings. This mindfulness book can teach children and adults a life long wellness skill that can cultivate resilience, gratitude, compassion, contentment, love and peace.
About Cindy and Liz:
Cindy Olejar lives in Edmonds, WA. She is a former elementary teacher, nutritional therapy practitioner and mindfulness coach. She enjoys kayaking, reading, music, drumming and loves sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, blueberries and bananas and is excited for the wonders of the unknown each day!
Liz Ricciardi lives in Bothell, WA, originally from the east coast. She followed her heart to the PNW, where she replanted herself, and her roots continue to grow. Along her way, Liz has been a spirited teacher, an enthusiastic volunteer, and a life-long learner. A common thread that connects these roles are Liz’s love of music, rhythm and movement, connecting the generations, and a love for the outdoors…. And her message to all…. “Remember to laugh!”
