Jane’s class will be recorded & posted (no downloads).  Student practice section will be private & not recorded. Optional Student Practice Time with Jane from 7:30-8PM PST.

In this lovely 6-week foundational course, Jane will teach you the basics of astrology, including its history, different types of charts, zodiac signs, rulerships, houses, planets, aspects, and how planets interact. The course explores modern applications for personal growth, relationships and decision-making, while introducing the ancient understanding of astrology as a spiritual practice.

You will learn through traditional explanations combined with guided visualizations, color and doodling; these approaches tap directly into visual-spatial intelligence, boost memory retention by 20–65% (depending on the study), spark creativity, reduce anxiety, and make learning feel like play instead of work. As well, you will practice reading your own and each other’s birth charts in a fun, hands-on way for practice & cultivating community.

Class 1: History and Basics of AstrologyExplore the history of astrology from its Babylonian origins through its development across different cultures. This class introduces the main types of charts (natal, transit, solar return, synastry) and includes a guided meditation to connect with the archetype of astrology plus a simple color-doodle exercise to map out the zodiac wheel.

Class 2: Zodiac Signs and RulershipsDiscover all 12 zodiac signs, their elements, modalities, and planetary rulers. You will use color associations and doodling to represent each sign, and come to a deeper understanding. This will be followed by a guided visualization to meet the ruling planet of their Sun sign and reflect on its personal meaning.

Class 3: The 12 Astrological HousesLearn the meaning of each of the 12 houses and how they represent different areas of life (self, money, career, relationships, enlightenment, etc.). Through a guided “house visualization” meditation and colorful house wheel doodling, students will intuitively connect with house placements.

Class 4: The Planets – Energies and MeaningsMeet the ten planets (Sun through Pluto), their core meanings, and mythological symbolism. Students will participate in guided visualization to connect with each planet’s energy and create personalized color doodles to capture how each planet feels and functions.

Class 5: Planetary Aspects and RelationshipsLearn the major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) and how planets interact with each other to create harmony or tension. Use color-blending doodles to visualize aspects and guided meditations to sense the energetic “conversation” and melting between planets in your chart.

Class 6: Reading Birth Charts and Modern ApplicationsCombine everything learned to practice reading full natal charts for yourself and your classmates. Explore practical modern uses of astrology for career, relationships, and personal growth, ending with a full-chart guided meditation and a personal color-doodle mandala of your cosmic blueprint.
