Every day I make it my practice to go into the woods or garden and experience the healing energy of simply *being* in nature. Ancient, earthy, green, and ever-changing in it’s cycles, the beauty and mystery of the natural world are at the heart of the Illuminated Earth Oracle deck
We think certain things about ourselves, even identify or accept those certain things as real, when we study our chart. We apply them to our lives and life-conditions. Are we identifying with limiting models or beliefs? It’s been said that a belief is a thought in your mind.” Are our lives constrained, restrained by the rules of house-cusp boundaries? Yes, it is and no it isn’t. It depends on one’s point-of-view.
It’s been said that thought is karma. One can attract and keep near oneself lofty forces. I prove this to myself daily. The currents of space, via, astronomic events, are always being modified and adapted, as they pass through a person’s thought and feeling matrices. When I consult most clients, I present this truth for them to test out themselves. One must be one’s own proof. What shapes in imagination are we cutting out, with what Florence Shinn calls the scissors of the mind? What kinds of imagined shapes are being empowered now, by the natal and transit rays of Saturn, the Sun, or Uranus?
In my dream I found myself between two big and very different hills. There were attorneys and court people on the one hill that had a very serious feeling to it. It was grey, gravelly and dry with large stones protruding from it. The other hill was very close to it. It was very colorful and full of vegetation. I saw an older man walking slowly with a cane. He looked at me with a puzzled look on his face. I asked him, “Where am I ?” He said, “Well, you asked for help with how to make your choice. So think about it, look around and try to climb to the top of the hill you like best. Whichever one you can climb all the way to the top will show you which one you really want to live in.”
By the time you finish reading this, you will already be under the influence of the first of three times Mercury goes retrograde this year. I’m going to share with you the way I turned Mercury Retrograde into an opportunity rather than a hostage to its shenanigans.
I have come to realize though from reading for others, especially those who have never had a reading before, that they are sometimes unsure of whether they should do it or what to “ask” the deck if they do. It’s a really good question - how to decide when to have a reading and from whom to have it. Many people play with a Tarot deck as if it a game, which is a great way to get started! I have a number of clients, when asked if they have ever had their cards read – say that yes, a friend of theirs got a deck and then read did readings for everyone at the party. Usually though they also say that, while the reading was interesting, they had no idea “how good it was” or “if it was accurate.
On Wednesday, March 6 at 8:04am we have a New Moon in 15 degrees of Pisces. Right in the middle of the sign, alongside Neptune and Vesta. This New Moon, as all New Moons in Pisces, marks the last cycle of the astrological year, which will begin again when the Sun shifts into Aries at the spring equinox. Pisces is about endings and the transition into beginnings. So, what is it time to let go of now so that you can commit your power to giving birth to something new?
n her early years, Gangaji pursued spirituality via the American method; through motherhood, relationships, and politics. That is to say, her search for truth was of an outward nature. But after meeting Sri Poonjaji (a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi), her search turned inward. Gangaji writes, “As long as you are seeking to find happiness somewhere (out there), you are overlooking where happiness is … in your true nature.” And what is spirituality but the search for the state of permanent happiness?
The beginnings of Cultivated Hippy can be traced back to one of the most difficult years of my life. I credit the daily use of essential oils with gently and lovingly helping me through a period of significant loss and spiritual crisis. 2008 was the muck at the bottom of my pond that the lotus of my own personal and spiritual growth required to be cultivated. Like many of us on the spiritual path, I’ve met with numerous significant losses and challenges, and the ones that showed up that year were some of the toughest. This is when I began working with essential oils.
