On this special evening, Suren will introduce his latest book, How Grief Becomes Light: Navigating Loss and the Afterlife with Newari Hindu Rituals.
Through his book, Suren shares the beautiful Newari Hindu traditions surrounding death, remembrance, and the sacred connection between generations. He offers a heartfelt perspective on honoring those who have passed and finding light through grief.
Suren will also guide us in a deep meditation and prayers to honor our ancestors and loved ones who have passed away, creating a sacred space for remembrance, healing, and connection.
SUREN SHRESTHA, a native of Nepal and author of How to Heal with Singing Bowls, brings his bowls, techniques and ancient wisdom directly from a village where people were customarily healed with the sacred sound current. He learned from Tibetan monks and yogi Tahalkishor Maharaj, and has traveled extensively in the U.S. sharing this knowledge.
Suren is raising funds through his teaching to build an orphanage for homeless children in his native village. Suren is the founding teacher of Atma Buti School for Sound Therapy.
